Discriminatory Bullying

Targeting because of race, religion, gender, or disability - your legal protections.

Introduction

When someone is bullied because of who they are - race, religion, gender, or disability - it is not only morally wrong, it is legally wrong. The Anti-Bullying Act 2026 gives specific protections against discrimination.

Signs

  • Mockery about tudung, robes, or cultural clothing.
  • Slurs about race or spoken language.
  • Students with disabilities excluded from class or sports activities.
  • "Jokes" that recycle racial or religious stereotypes.

What you can do

  1. Note incidents in detail - exact words used.
  2. Inform the Principal and the school's anti-bullying officer in writing.
  3. File a report on HeroFriends - discrimination cases are treated as high priority.
  4. Encourage your child - their identity is a source of strength, not shame.

When to get help

Repeated discrimination or threats become Tribunal cases. HeroFriends works with SUHAKAM and the Ministry of Education to ensure fair outcomes.

After you read
