Introduction
When someone is bullied because of who they are - race, religion, gender, or disability - it is not only morally wrong, it is legally wrong. The Anti-Bullying Act 2026 gives specific protections against discrimination.
Signs
- Mockery about tudung, robes, or cultural clothing.
- Slurs about race or spoken language.
- Students with disabilities excluded from class or sports activities.
- "Jokes" that recycle racial or religious stereotypes.
What you can do
- Note incidents in detail - exact words used.
- Inform the Principal and the school's anti-bullying officer in writing.
- File a report on HeroFriends - discrimination cases are treated as high priority.
- Encourage your child - their identity is a source of strength, not shame.
